Bought it about two weeks ago and have only tested it inside with the built in mics. Maybe I need to mess with it more, because they hardly picked up anything…
I still want to test it with my mics, but as far as build quality it is one nice solid piece. Nothing flimsy.
Bought it on Amazon for $293 new. Just hope it was the better choice from the H4N.
Sorry, Just bought the ZOOM H4N instead…. Looks way sexier, and has way better reviews. Same price though =/
Ditch the fucking remote control (it’s a god damned portable unit anyway!) Give us some EQ controls and better GAIN adjustments.
And for fucks sake, just make it come standard with a 16gb card AT LEAST.
As far as I can tell – having just bought this thing – it ain’t worth $300.
You can’t get shit for sound using the lowest gain setting. You have to crank up the built in gain to get clear audio, but this in turn creates a bad hiss which is pretty distracting. The preamps suck. I HATE that you can’t record XLR and OMNI simultaneously. Also, using phantom power will kill your battery. A lot of sites say this thing can go for 5+ hrs on the li-ion battery. This is NOT true.
Not worth the money.

@Mikemainstreet use your PSP charger , USB port on your computer or any 5V DC supply,it does not have to be from TASCAM and like you i agree £380:00 and no PSU to find out they want £29:95 for their one .I DONT THINK Sooooooo! i also use the Tom Tom 12v car charger for longer recordings in the field,so feel free to have a look at my channel i do have a couple of audio tests in the field with my DR100.

Great quality recording on the uni microphones when it works.
I don’t see the point in the omni mics, they’re completely pointless and crap quality.
Another Field recorder indoors..why are all the videos i watch on here never outside in the real world.
And i hope this video was not recorded on this recorder.
The DR100 seems to have been kicked into a cocked hat by the H4n from Samson/Zoom is this the case ? as i cant find any high street store selling this unit.
